The bridge-type frame is made from deep-drawn steel sheet parts welded together. It is lighter, like the new 14.5-liter plastic tank, which sheds 4.5 kg but also loses 0.5 liters in capacity. In terms of the cycle, the F 900 GS features a new fully adjustable inverted telescopic fork from Showa. It also comes with two riding modes, "Rain" and "Road," as well as dynamic traction control (DTC), cornering-optimized ABS Pro, and dynamic brake light.
The mechanical heart has also been significantly updated. The inline twin-cylinder engine has increased from 853 cc to 895 cc, with a new firing interval (270/450º) and an extra 10 hp compared to the F 850 GS, resulting in a final output of 105 hp.
The weight has been significantly reduced: headlight (-0.6 kg), battery (-1 kg), rear section (-2.4 kg), Akrapovic exhaust (standard, -1.7 kg), swingarm (-0.25 kg), side stand (-0.4 kg), and notably, a plastic tank instead of metal (-4.5 kg). In total, it is 14 kg lighter, bringing the curb weight to 219 kg.
